Ordinary men, an extraordinary friendship.

Cae Glas Lodge meets eight times a year at the Masonic Hall on Roft Street. Between the ceremonies there is a curry, a laugh, and a great deal of money raised for Shropshire charities.

What an evening looks like

Ceremony at 6.15, dinner at 8, home by 10.

The ritual is old and worth seeing done well. The Festive Board afterwards is where the friendships are actually made. If you have far to travel, you have the Master's permission to slip away after the Loyal Toast — nobody will mind.

Becoming a member

Four steps, and none of them are difficult.

You need to be a man over 21 who believes in a Supreme Being. That is very nearly the whole list.

Start a conversation
Come to a curry night Meet us informally. Ask anything. No commitment whatsoever.
A chat over coffee Two members visit you at home to explain what membership involves — time, cost and expectations.
Your application A short form, a proposer and seconder from the Lodge, and a vote of the members.
Initiation Your first ceremony, and the beginning of the rest of it. Usually within a few months.

Curious? That is genuinely how most of us started.

Send the Secretary a message and he will reply personally. No forms, no pressure, and no obligation to go any further than a curry.
